Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Brian Buter said the clerk, who works at the Speedway at 120th Avenue and James Street, called police at about 3:17 a.m. after they were allegedly robbed by an unidentified suspect.
According to Buter, a man walked into the Speedway and displayed a handgun. He allegedly fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
Buter said a department K-9 unit was able to track the suspect for a distance, but the person wasn’t caught and still remains at large.
According to police, the suspect is described as being a tall, slender white male with a small amount of close-cropped facial hair. He was wearing a dark cap, a gray pullover sweater, faded blue jeans, and aviator-styled sunglasses.
