Weather factors into 2 fatal car crashes

Authorities said a winter storm that brought snow, high winds and ice to large portions of Michigan was a factor in at least two traffic deaths.

A 39-year-old Adrian woman died after the vehicle in which she was a passenger went off the road Sunday in Clare County’s Hayes Township, about 90 miles north of Lansing. TV stations WWTV/WWUP reported speed and weather conditions were a factor in the crash.

The Kalamazoo Gazette reported a 36-year-old woman died when the pickup truck in which she was a passenger crashed Sunday on an icy roadway in Kalamazoo County’s Texas Township.
