The fire started around 7:30 a.m. at the home in the 2600 block of Pontaluna Road, between South Walker and Quarterline roads.
The homeowner and family were able to get out of the home safely. Two dogs and two cats were also able to get out safely, but one dog did require some treatment from the Fruitport Township Fire Department.
There is no word yet on what caused the fire.
