“There’s a hint of pressure, because we don’t want to get beat here, that’s for sure,” said Lakers’ senior Marcus Fry, a returning all-stater. “We beat Ludington and Fremont at their courses, so it was nice to get all three.”
Fry and the Lakers turned in a team score of 158 on Monday. Ludington was second at 165, followed by Fremont at 170, Fruitport at 179, Orchard View at 188 and Tri-County at 204.
Fry’s classmate, Nic Parnell, carded the low round for Spring Lake with an even-par 37. Ben Kramer shot a 40 while Bricker Reed and Connor Love each shot a 42.
Spring Lake now leads the overall team standings by 16 strokes over Ludington and 29 strokes over Fremont with two league jamborees remaining.
