Softball: Trojans bang out 15 hits in win

Fruitport's offense totaled 15 hits against host Grant on Tuesday, helping the Trojans' varsity softball team roll to a 13-0 Lakes Eight Conference victory.

Senior Amber Carmean led the Trojans with three hits, while Bari Lee, Lindsey Helsen, Carissa Paulsen, and Lindsey Slocum each totaled two hits.

Lee was the winning pitcher for Fruitport, as she struck out seven and allowed just two hits in the mercy-shortened five-inning contest.

Game 2 was postponed due to lightening with the Trojans holding a 5-0 lead in the second inning.
