Hazekamp has earned 11 varsity letters during her athletic career at Fruitport. She has shined the brightest on the volleyball court, where she was an All-State setter for three seasons and a Miss Volleyball candidate this past season.
She helped lead the Trojans to back-to-back Class B state championships. She also excelled as a defensive-minded guard on the Fruitport girls basketball team and a midfielder on the soccer squad.
Hazekamp, who sports a 4.07 grade point average, will play volleyball at Hope College.
VanBergen earned eight varsity letters during his time at Fruitport and was named first-team all-conference in three sports — football, wrestling and track.
The 4.08 grade point student was a standout defensive back for the Trojans’ football team that advanced to the Division 3 playoffs and won a share of the Lakes Eight Conference title; In wrestling, VanBergen was a part of a squad that won a district championship for the first time since 2003 and had an overall record of 28-3; and in track, VanBergen was the Trojans’ top sprinter.
