One hurt in rush-hour crash on Savidge

A woman was taken to the hospital following a rush-hour collision Thursday on Savidge Street in Spring Lake.

The crash happened shortly after 5:30 p.m. on eastbound Savidge, just east of Cutler Street.

Spring Lake/Ferrysburg Police said a driver on the outside eastbound lane stopped, and motioned for a silver Honda Accord to proceed across the lanes in order to go west on Savidge Street. Neither driver was aware of a red Toyota Prius coming up in the inside lane.

The Accord and Prius collided.

The driver of the Prius was taken to North Ottawa Community Hospital.

Names in the crash were not immediately released.
