Fire forces evacuation of Allen Springs apartments

 Georgetown Township firefighters extinguished the blaze while members of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department went room-to-room and evacuated the facility, said Sgt. Bob Ruster.

 Everyone was evacuated safely and there were no injuries, Ruster said.

 Residents are staying with family or at area hotels, he added.

 The American Red Cross assisted at the scene.

 The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Ruster said.
