Police took the felines Friday from the Kalamazoo Township home because their owner had lost control of them. A neighbor earlier had complained to police about the large number of cats outside the house.

The township allows no more than three cats for each household.

Sgt. Stephen Rickey said the cats' owner voluntarily gave them to authorities and that Kalamazoo County's animal services office likely will put them up for adoption.
