This week was an especially bad time to have your air conditioner stripped for scrap.

Police said the contents of a commercial-size air conditioning unit were stolen recently from the Bridge to Life Ministries, 17194 VanWagoner Road in Ferrysburg.

Sgt. Curt Theune of the Spring Lake/Ferrysburg Police Department said it appears someone took the parts for scrap metal.

The unit is valued at $3,000. The theft occurred sometime over the past week, Theune said.

“It looked like it had to be someone who knew what they were doing,” Theune said. “You would think it would take more than one person.”

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the police department at 842-1889, or Silent Observer at 877-88-SILENT (745368).
