4 rescued from sinking boat in Lake Mich.

The people were on a powerboat about 100 yards from the shore when the back end of the boat "broke off," they said.

Swimmers at the park grabbed life rings from the pier and were able to get them to the distressed boaters, who were in the water by then. A nearby pontoon boat picked up the people and took them to shore.

The people were checked on the shore for injuries, but no one was taken to the hospital.
