Police were alerted after the boys — ages 16 and 17 from Spring Lake and Fruitport — were seen pushing the motorcycles alongside East Fruitport Road about 3 a.m. Friday. Later that morning, police found one of the teens with a dirt bike, which the owner confirmed was missing from his residence.

A search was conducted for the second youth with the help of the state police and Muskegon County Sheriff's Department. With the help of the Sheriff's Department K-9 unit, police found the second suspect and later recovered the second stolen bike.

The 16-year-old was lodged at the Muskegon County Juvenile Detention Facility and the 17-year-old was lodged at the Muskegon County Jail.

No further information, including names of the involved parties, was released by police.
