Krag Sanford, who had taught at Saranac High School, was sentenced Tuesday in Ionia County Circuit Court. He'll also serve two years of probation.
The man from Kent County's Byron Township was arrested this year after authorities said he had a sexual relationship with the teen. A letter presented earlier in court says he impregnated her this year.
Sanford pleaded no contest in a deal with prosecutors to distributing sexually explicit material to a minor. A no contest plea isn't an admission of guilt but is treated as such for sentencing.
He also faces sentencing Aug. 14 in a related case in Kent County.

Well it looks like Mr. Sanford gets to transfer right from the Ionia high school accross the road to Ionia SuperMax. He is definetly institutionalized from one extreme to the other.
