Firefighters were called to Spring Lake High School, 16140 148th Ave., at 8:48 a.m. Thursday on a vehicle fire in the parking lot. The fire was discovered by a school maintenance worker, who called 911. That person also notified the owner, Peggy Panici, who was working inside the school.

The vehicle was insured and there were no injuries, Sipe said.

Firefighters cleared the scene after about an hour.
