In a statement released Monday by the National Park Service, the parents of Jakson Kreiser said it is difficult for them to imagine they have lost their son. But Kreiser's mother and father said they believe he has found the world's greatest resting place.
The statement said the 19-year-old Kreiser fell in love with the park, and they are grateful for all the support shown by friends back home in Michigan and Kreiser's new friends in Glacier.
Kreiser was a seasonal worker at Lake McDonald Lodge who officials believe was trying to hike across treacherous terrain from Hidden Lake to Avalanche Lake on July 27.
