Woman pleads guilty in ring theft from classroom

Amy Lynn Unger of Holton faces sentencing Sept. 10 on a charge of larceny from a building.

Unger entered the plea Thursday. Court records show the charge may be dropped from a felony to a misdemeanor if probation is completed.

A Holton Elementary School teacher told police she left the diamond and silver ring and a college class ring on a counter while cleaning the classroom June 4 with another teacher. While both teachers were out of the classroom, Unger and her granddaughter showed up early for a conference.
