The second area Love INC General Store is open for business in the former Robbins Road Hardware building at 948 Robbins Road.

All proceeds from the sale of donated items go toward operations of the Christian non-profit agency's men's shelter — the Harbor Hall.

Profits from the Spring Lake General Store — about $150,000 net per year — benefit Love INC's women's shelter, the Hope House.

Love INC President and CEO Eric Morgan the help of donors and community leaders allowed the agency to own the 5,000-square-foot building debt-free.

“All of our sales can help the community,” Morgan said. “What it's allowed us to do is to have a ministry in the Tri-Cities that is also sustainable. We're able to take what the community gives us and put it out as God's best at great bargains for people. All of that fuels the great big Love INC organization that is able to help people.”

Like the Spring Lake store, the Grand Haven location features furniture, housewares, clothing, sporting goods, children's items and more. The new site will also accept on-site donations.

Store director Mary Crum will split time between the two outlets.

A grand opening is scheduled for Aug. 27. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
