Environmental group donates med collection boxes

The Clean-up Our River Environment group recently donated collection boxes for the disposal of unwanted medicines to the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety and the Spring Lake/Ferrysburg Police Department.

The collection box for the Spring Lake location was given in memory of Rhea Ruiter, an environmental group member who died in March 2012.

Once installed, the collection boxes will provide residents of Northwest Ottawa County convenient and secure drop-off sites for safely disposing of unwanted medicines, including controlled substances.
