Baby Bentley released from hospital, returns home

Baby Bentley McIntyre slept at home for the first time in the month since he was rushed to the hospital with traumatic brain injuries.

After an MRI and sleep and feed test at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids on Wednesday, Bentley was cleared to go home.

“I am doing the happy dance,” wrote one of Bentley’s mother’s family members, Jackie Zalsman Ostrum, on Bentley’s prayer page.

Others quickly joined in the rejoicing.

“Well, lil’ B, you are probably home getting ready for bed,” wrote Candy Davis Dicocco. “I hope you have a great nights sleep along with your mommy and Nana. Keep fighting to get stronger. We all love you and will see you soon, when they decide when your party will be.”

This morning, Ashley Hatch-King chimed in.

“Good morning, Bentley,” she wrote. “What an awesome feeling it must have been to sleep at home last night! I hope you slept well and have a great day today! What a relief to us all that you are now in the comfort of your own home. Still praying daily for your full recovery.”
