The funding means the college will be able to design programs to retrain workers in new or updated fields, preparing Michigan workers with skills for jobs of the future, U.S. Sens. Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin said in the joint announcement.
Muskegon Community College will receive a portion of a $12.3 million grant as a member in a consortium of community colleges led by Northern Virginia Community College. The award was made available through the Department of Labor’s Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College Career Training Program.

How does that affect workers like myself whose job was privatized? An outside cleaning company took my job away from me. Wouldn't that be considered outsourcing? Any positive feedback here would be appreciated. Thanks.
Why if high tech jobs are so available does the Fed gov't need to subsidize a college to train? Seems supply and demand principles would be at work here and the college would want to offer this training! Oh, that's right, the gov't is so flushed with money it can redistribute...er...I mean subsidize this training.
