Ranae Hook, 41, of Hudsonville, was driving north on 36th Avenue, failed to stop for a red traffic signal at Port Sheldon Street and struck an eastbound car driven by Arika Williams, 24 of Grandville.

After impact, Hook’s 2002 Ford van left the road and hit a tree head-on, said Sgt. Steve Austin of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department. She was pinned in and had to be extricated by firefighters.

Both women were taken by ambulance to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. Hook was listed in good condition this morning. Williams was treated and released, a hospital spokesperson said.
