ArtWalk winners

The votes have been cast and tallied, and winners for ArtWalk 2012 were announced Wednesday night.

“ArtWalk 2012 has been a phenomenal success, which is evident by the talent represented in the winning pieces,” said Dana Kollewehr, executive director of Grand Haven’s Main Street Downtown Development Authority. “All of the ArtWalk participants should be proud of the work they have produced — and for creating an interesting, dynamic experience for the community and visitors.”

Here are the winners of the People’s Choice awards:

First place: Krystal Gardner, “The Minter Tree” at Red’s Salon
Second place: Doc Bernie Duff, “Lifelines and Red Dzao” at Tri-Cities Historical Museum

First place: John Dykstra, “Fall Reflections” at Tri-Cities Historical Museum
Second place: Brian Gudas, “Splash” at Tri-Cities Historical Museum

First place: Steven Peters, “Citizenship” at Tri-Cities Historical Museum
Second place: Terry Kipling, “Preening Redhead Drake” at The Paper Place

First place: Jennifer Jones, “High Class Problems” at Tri-Cities Historical Museum
Second place: Krystal Gardner, “Rachel” at Red’s Salon

ArtWalk 2012 also featured a juried vote. Here are those winners:

Winners of the ArtWalk Youth Competition, hosted by Loutit District Library, were also announced Wednesday.

“We had a great turnout for the Youth Competition this year, with amazing pieces by entrants of all ages,” Kollewehr said. “It was inspiring to see so many children from throughout Grand Haven and the surrounding areas come together to display their artworks at Loutit District Library.”

The winners were:

Ages 9-13:
