Bentley McIntyre has been hospitalized since he suffered a brain injury when he was allegedly shaken by his father in the early morning of Aug. 24. He was released from the hospital last month.
The party will take place at LifeTree Church, 10933 Lake Michigan Drive (M-45) — between 104th and 120th avenues — from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday.
“It’s just so everyone gets a chance to meet him,” said Autumn Ames, the boy’s "honorary grandmother."
Ames said fans of Bentley’s online Prayer Page are invited. Refreshments will be served.
The event gives Bentley's mother, Kaylee Zalsman; and his grandmother, Patti VanOmmen, a chance to thank everyone, Ames said. Ames added that it is not a fundraiser, and the boy will not be passed around.
