Fruitport Twp. OKs water switch

The Fruitport Township Board has approved a long-term agreement to get water from the City of Muskegon.

The township currently buys water from Muskegon Heights, but that contract ends in 2015.

Norton Shores City Council is expected to finalize its water agreement with Muskegon next week.

Together, Fruitport Township and Norton Shores provide 70 percent of the business for the Muskegon Heights water filtration plant.
