Schools throughout Michigan open for classes on Tuesday, Sept. 4. For motorists, it means paying attention in school zones.

Spring Lake and Fruitport won the local high school football openers Thursday night.

Summer's winding down and the kids will be back in school in a little more than a week.

Despite the temperature ups and downs and the lack of rain, everything came out OK, at least for Howard and Sharon Behm of Behm Blueberry Farms, located at the corner of M-45 and 144th Avenue in Grand Haven Township. "We were actually up a bit' from last year, Howard said. "We had a pretty good crop.' "We were scared,' he said. "We felt really blessed we picked the crop we did.'
