Newsweek: SLHS, GHHS among best in nation

Grand Haven and Spring Lake high schools have more points of pride to place in their portfolio. In ratings released this week, Newsweek ranked both schools in the top 1,000 in the nation - based on graduation rate, college matriculation rate, test scores and advanced classes offered.

Local schools climb into top 5 percent

Spring Lake and Grand Haven high schools soared with stellar scores in national and state rankings released this week by U.S. News & World Report. Spring Lake ranked in the top 2 percent in the nation in the magazine's "America's Best High Schools." The Lakers also landed slightly above the top 1 percent statewide.
