A substance found outside the gas station where Jessica Heeringa worked when she was abducted nearly two weeks ago has been identified as the missing woman's blood.
P.J. Hoffmaster State Park was closed temporarily Thursday afternoon, and there was a brief flurry of police and media activity there after police received a tip on a silver van spotted in the park.
(UPDATE: 7:45 p.m. Thursday) Police searched P.J. Hoffmaster State Park for about two and a half hours Thursday for possible clues in the disappearance of Jessica Heeringa.
(UPDATED 6 p.m. with witness information) The Norton Shores Police Department has released a new surveillance video showing the van believed to be the one spotted at the gas station from where Jessica Heeringa was abducted Friday night.
A candlelight vigil was held Tuesday night for Jessica Heeringa, the 25-year-old Norton Shores woman who police said was abducted late Friday from the convenience store where she worked. She hasn't been seen or heard from since then.
