During my first year at the pharmacy, I had the opportunity to work for Mr. Pfaff. In that first year Cliff taught me a lot. He taught by example. If a prescription was called in five minutes before closing, he made sure we stayed to complete it. He valued each of his customers and passed this value down to me. When working with Cliff, I knew that my job reached further than the front or back door. Cliff’s continued dedication to his family and the community still inspires me every day.
During my second year on the job, Cliff sold the pharmacy to Dwayne. Since that time, until his recent retirement, I have had the opportunity to work for Dwayne. Dwayne, like Cliff, has taught me a lot. Dwayne has a way of motivating people by simply believing in them. He believed in me and taught me the power of believing in others and empowering them to take ownership and pride in their work. While Dwayne owned the pharmacy, he continued support to the community.
That brings me to the most important part of Pfaff Pharmacy: the customers. They have done more than just buy goods or services. They have been people who have baked goodies for us, shared their stories, laughed with us and cried with us. The customers I have had the good fortune to meet over the years I consider my friends.
As many of you know, I am no longer at Pfaff Pharmacy, and what I would like you to know is that the times that we shared will always be with me and are some of my greatest treasures. I look forward to seeing you out in the community as I look for my next new adventure.
