Divas and the Rooster

The Lakeshore Dining Divas went north again for their latest dining experience.
Jul 29, 2014

The divas recently traveled to the Red Rooster Tavern, 2998 Scenic Drive in North Muskegon, to partake in its out-of-the-way cuisine.

"We took the Lake Michigan scenic route to get to the Red Rooster, which was part of the reason we made this our July dining adventure," they wrote in their restaurant-reviewing blog. "Expect to drive on a winding, curvy road that is heavily wooded. Next thing you know, there's a break in the woods, and you are so close to Lake Michigan you think you are driving on the beach."

The divas say the tavern offers a very casual atmosphere and live entertainment Wednesday through Saturday evenings.

"We chose to dine on a Tuesday night and were disappointed to learn we missed out on the band," they noted.

Hey Barry - problem solved. Band, close to beaches, casual, should hold the 3-4 people who would actually attend, Jack Daniel burgers.

Beer Summit 2014.

I didn't think "close to beaches" was a Beer Summit criteria. I suppose a short jaunt up to Duck Lake channel to dive off of the bridge wouldn't be out of the question. I'm pretty certain those parts lack taxpayer subsidized bus service. Maybe we could talk LTA into driving us up there in your Prius. I'm getting the hint that your garage is a mess...

Perhaps we could boost attendance numbers if Happy Hour included shots of these:

"Maybe we could talk LTA into driving us up there in your Prius"

I'd rather walk than drive a Prius. I'd consider driving y'all up there if you pay the fuel bill, but we'd be doing it in my GMC Pick-up. It just reached it's 25th birthday and needs an adventure.

We could show your GMC pick-up a real good time!.....

There ya go again - gettin' all sensible....but you redeem yourself with the Corazon!.....

Barry Soetoro

I found the stuff aged in Stagg barrels online for eighty bucks

...seriously considering taking in some of those adult refugees to raise some quick $$$$ as I imagine you're furiously cleaning the garage and bathroom in anticipation of a summer Summit.

At that price you would think it comes with a t-shirt...

What a deal! If you buy 6 bottles, the 6th would be "free" with the $15/bottle savings! Love the t-shirt - is it me or are the letters uneven? But the philosophy behind the message is profound - a total rip-off the Corazon folks don't throw it in for good measure.

I took a break from my furiousness to find these adult refugees for you. They are scheduled to show up at your door right....about....now. (A nice bottle of Corazon wrapped in that t-shirt would be a nice thank-you gesture).

Gee, Barry - I thought this was hilarious.....but apparently you don't agree??

Barry Soetoro

Too scared of the "gal" in the middle to comment.

Perhaps a tshirt is in order...

So glad they stated that it is currently Summer in their part of the U.S.A., given their huge international following, what with I'm sure many hundreds of thousands of people reading their blog that might be experiencing a different season at the moment.

Sweet mercy. After the last installment that included multiple bathroom pics and drunks passed out in the back seat of the car I had such high hopes for the old broads. Their sole commenter "Heather Adventure" sounds interesting.

Heather is married, move along Barry ;-)

I just liked her casual date night suggestion. An alcohol fueled nighttime walk on the beach - what could possibly go wrong? The Divas really let me down this month.

Agree 100%
