LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Beach trash is an insult

Jun 2, 2011

While walking along the beach, I found hundreds of plastic beverage bottles (including some from alcoholic beverages which I believe are not permitted in the park), hundreds of paper cups from the concession stand, along with discarded shoes, blankets and even a broken beach chair. With all the budget cuts, the state park employees do not have the resources to clean up after you, nor should they have to.

Please, people: Use the beach and enjoy it; but when you leave, either use the barrels placed there or take your trash with you. If everyone does this, then the beach will be much nicer for the next group of people to use.
