Liz Sagaser, a blogger for the Mothers of Preschoolers International and the mother of two preschoolers, knows this firsthand — night after night after night.
In her latest blog, "When bedtime becomes an Olympic event," Sagaser shares a sampling of what bedtime is like for parents of little ones. It's no 100-meter dash; it's often a marathon.
"If the Bedtime Marathon was an Olympic event, I’m certain my 3-year-old daughter would bring home the gold," she wrote. "Opening ceremonies for our bedtime games begin with a time-honored tradition as my daughter pleads, 'Just five more minutes, please?!' Then the race begins. The jog up the stairs goes well. The brushing of the teeth and use of the potty go off without a hitch.
"Then the second leg of the race begins: getting her into pajamas."
