Try doing with a couple rugrats underfoot!
That's what blogger Katy Epling writes about in "Creative Housekeeping: How to Clean With Oreos In Your Mouth." She's part of the Mothers of Preschoolers (or MOPS) International's stable of regular bloggers.
"I read somewhere that cleaning with children in the house is like brushing your teeth while eating Oreos. Can I get an amen?" Katy wrote. "Sometimes I am certain that Roo’s purpose here on earth is to undo things faster than I can get them done. And let me tell you, he takes his job seriously. It probably doesn’t help that I am not by nature a tidy, organized person. I don’t like to clean, but neither do I like to live in fear of the next Lego attack on my right heel."
Katy said over the past seven years she's engaged her creative side to get the house cleaned. In her blog, she shares some tips she's culled from those years and with help from other moms.
"Grace, grace, grace. This is my No. 1 piece of advice for pretty much anything that relates to parenting — or life, really. We cannot constantly beat ourselves up over what we perceive to be our failures. Not every trick or system will work as planned. Not every day will go as you hope. Give yourself some grace to try again (or try something new) tomorrow."
