I wish they would run a poll asking if they should abolish "Our Views."

I'd second that idea.

Thirded! :)

In all seriousness though (and to get waaayyyyy off topic of the coal tipple), I wonder if the city can get the Tribune to do a poll about the fountain, more specifically if themed shows should make a comeback.

Im not talking about the old classic shows, but instead a whole new library featuring newer music that almost everyone knows along with themed intro/end music to match the show in place of the standard music.

There are two experimental themed shows currently in production focusing on the music from Disney films. The shows are essentially one long song that transitions between the different films seamlessly. The programming will also be top-notch, in fact, they will be two of the most meticulously choreographed shows the fountain has ever seen (myself and one other very good programmer are doing the choreography and we estimate it will take several weeks of programming per show). The production value on the audio and choreography is much higher than the existing programs.

Other shows being planned are a Jimmy Buffet show, and several family-friendly shows.

Anyway, in talking with people, I have heard some saying that they dont want themed shows and only want the jukebox style format we currently use. Others like the idea of themed shows, but want the intro/end music to stay the same (theme to 2001: A Space Oddessy), which in my opinion will clash with an otherwise flowing show, and others want everything to be themed every night. And there is a small number of people that want to go back to strictly playing the classic shows every night (pre-2005 with narration).

My personal opinion is to have a theme night each week. And for the other six days run the standard shows.

I am honestly very curious what the public thinks, so that everyone involved with the fountain can start moving towards that direction. We dont do all the work at the fountain for our own enjoyment, we do it for local residents and our visitors, so it only makes sense that we follow what everyone wants to see.

Vast Right Wing...

How about a poll to see if more than 100% of the voters never want to see the dining diva's mentioned again.

I believe the results would in fact be MORE than 100%.
