Bathroom makeover

Grand Haven fashion-on-a-dime blogger Chantal McDaniel is taking her love of thrift to the bathroom.
Mar 11, 2014

This month, she’s teaming up with the Holland Rescue Mission to use secondhand items from their stores to redecorate a bathroom, recreate new spring fashion items and, in general, make new out of the old.

The first thing was her bathroom makeover.

“I love the way it turned out,” McDaniel wrote. “Though it was a simple and quick makeover, my bathroom went from being a hodge-podge, mismatched space to being much more pulled together. The yellow, black and white seemed very fresh to me, and I was pleased to do the entire project for less than $50.”

As long as she's keeping that bathroom clean I suppose she can do what she wants with it. I hope this blog isn't replacing the Dining Divas.

Good news, Barry! I am a little bit of a neatnik--the bathroom is very tidy these days. No need to fret, I'm one of many blogs in the rotation here at the Grand Haven Tribune, and I won't be reviewing restaurants any time soon. Pretty sure the Dining Divas are still doing the digging in. ;)

Fascinating stuff Chantal! You'll never catch those high-n-mighty Divas with a mop in their hands! Next you'll tell us you like to throw back an ice cold PBR after scouring the ol' s-house. Looking forward to future columns - you're obviously more well-received here than the Divas! Look for the upcoming Trib Commenters Beer Summit - love to see you there!
