When I look at the information she sends out, I don’t see where she defends her ‘yes’ vote on Common Core? If it was a great program, wouldn’t she want everyone to know she voted for it?
The reality is she doesn’t want voters to know because it is not a great program. Common Core is the catalyst for nationalizing education through national testing and a national curriculum – a “one size fits all” for our kids. They claim it provides essential standards, but yet the only Mathematician on the committee, Stanford Professor Milgram, refused to sign off on it, saying it had “extremely serious failings”, reflected “low expectations”, and would place American students two years behind their peers in other high achieving countries. Not to mention, either, the data mining of our children without parental consent or control.
So, why did Amanda Price vote ‘yes’ on Common Core? Probably because the federal government dangled free money, that’s why. She forgot that “federal free money” also comes from us taxpayers, and she also ignored how our State will pay for it when federal dollars are gone. We can only guess why because she won’t explain her vote.
Republican candidate, Matt Wiedenhoeft, promises to work to repeal Common Core in Michigan, like many states have already done. Matt will also work to repeal Obamacare in Michigan, which Amanda Price also supported. Vote for Matt Widenhoeft in the August 5 primary, a true conservative.
