As a resident of Ferrysburg, my children are enrolled in the Grand Haven public schools, and this year my third-grader had a wonderful opportunity to be immersed in the history of Michigan and specifically our area through the collaborative programs between the teachers and the Tri-Cities Historical Museum. As a parent, I was so impressed with the dynamic presentations and field trips to the museum, Dewitt school house, Native American festival and the Gabagouche voyageur canoe that were planned to teach the students about Michigan and local history, native cultures, and life during the voyageurs, logging, and Victorian periods to present. These programs capture the imaginations and fascinated the children who could only ask more questions about our history and where we came from as a community.
Please help support the Tri-Cities Museum continue their quality programing and collaboration with educators in our area by supporting the millage on August 7. This is an investment in our children and our community heritage.
