School teachers, administrators, staff, board members, and parents have worked to consider options and then present a plan that is well thought out. As a past Spring Lake school board member, I certainly appreciate all of that concentrated effort.
The new plan is multifaceted. The very old elementary schools will be replaced with a modern facility. There are also improvements and additions to the intermediate, middle, high school, and the bus garage. Additional security is a priority at all locations. Technology upgrades will be implemented and some new buses will be replacing older models.
During recent meetings, I have come to appreciate the pro and con thoughts of several Laker constituents. All have the best interests of the students and the Spring Lake Schools community in their thoughts.
Superintendent Dennis Furton has done a fine job in answering questions, making presentations, and illustrating the benefits of the parts that make up BOND 2013. It appears to me that he will continue to do so and that he will also do an excellent job in implementing all of its components. It is a plan that is worthy of your consideration and approval.
