Sinclair will take the stage at Grand Haven High School's Performing Arts Center tonight at 7 as part of a special program sponsored by Loutit and Spring Lake district libraries. The presentation is free.
In his performance, Sinclair illuminates both the writings and life of Hemingway in equal measures. He uses stage props and audience interaction in presenting the life of the great American writer.
Sinclair is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada and holds a Master of Arts degree in theater from the University of Denver. He also studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, England, and at the National Film Board in Canada. A dual citizen of Canada and Ireland, Sinclair is a recipient of the Sir Tyrone Guthrie Award for acting at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario. He currently works as artistic director of Ontario's Children of Erin Theatre Company; and he performs annually at the Hemingway Festival in Key West, Fla., each July.

Tonight's presentation will be made in recognition of Loutit District Library's programming of Read Along the Lakeshore events to celebrate The Great Michigan Read. Read Along the Lakeshore has involved multiple events engaging residents with "The Nick Adams Stories" by Hemingway at nine libraries, including Loutit and Spring Lake district libraries.
Comments will be provided at tonight's event by Jan Fedewa, executive director of the Michigan Humanities Council; Dennis Brown, representing the Consulate General of Canada; and Ed Brooks, a librarian at Loutit District Library. The MHC will be presenting a limited-edition copy of The Great Michigan Read poster to the libraries.
Sinclair is also scheduled to perform at the Howmet Theatre in Whitehall on Thursday at 7 p.m. That free event is sponsored by the Muskegon Area District Library and White Lake Community Library.
In addition, Hemingway expert Dr. Suzanne del Gizzo will present "Hemingway: The Early Years" at Spring Lake District Library, 123 E. Exchange St., on Tuesday, March 18, at 7 p.m. Del Gizzo will examine how the gender, religious and ethnic traditions of early 20th-century America influenced Hemingway's writing.
