MONROE (AP) A Hamtramck man whose teenage daughter called 911 from a cell phone to say her drunken father was driving them down Interstate 75 near the Ohio boundary has been fined.
Pawel Bozek was ordered Monday by a Monroe County judge to pay $1,260 in fines and court costs.
Police in Monroe arrested the 39-year-old Bozek after stopping his van on Feb. 11. The 13-year-old girl told police her father was trying to drive to Florida. They said his blood alcohol level measured nearly three times the legal limit.
Bozek pleaded guilty last month to drunken driving. In return, prosecutors dropped a child endangerment charge.
