River cruise with county parks group May 22

The Friends of Ottawa County Parks are again sponsoring an at-cost trip aboard the Grand Lady riverboat on May 22.

The trip features talks on the river's geology, history, water quality, ecology and wildlife. County Parks staff will also talk about the Grand River Greenway Initiative along the route.

The boat heads downstream at 10 a.m. from Grandville and arrives in Fruitport around 3 or 4 p.m. Buses will bring passengers back to Grandville.

The cost is $30 per person over age 12, and $25 for Friends of Ottawa County Parks. Passengers should bring a lunch, but can purchase snacks and drinks on board. Cameras and binoculars are recommended.
