William 'Bill' Mohr

William "Bill" Mohr, age 90, of Grand Haven, and formerly of Hillsdale, passed away Monday, May 5, 2008, at his home.

Bill was born on April 5, 1918, in Hillsdale to Charles and Amelia (Daglow) Mohr. Prior to moving to Grand Haven in 1965, Bill owned and operated a dairy farm in Hillsdale, and then went to work for Miller Smith Plating Company in Spring Lake, and retired in 1989. He was a lifetime member of the Eagles, an avid bowler at Starlight Lanes and active on many leagues. He also enjoyed traveling, farming and mowing the lawn.

Bill is survived by a sister, Reva Scovill of Hillsdale; and four grandchildren: Terry Mohr and Tim Mohr, of Indiana, and Stacey and Andrew Schmalz, of Grand Haven; and his longtime loving companion of 43 years, Barb Booth of Grand Haven, and her children who he helped raise: Kathie (John) Schmalz of Grand Haven and Larry (Kim) Booth of Grand Rapids; several nieces and nephews; and a daughter-in-law, Vicky Booth of Goodels.

He was preceded in death by a son, Lynn Mohr; three sisters: Marie Chappel, Bernice Phillips and Hazel Ladd; a brother, Nelson Mohr; a granddaughter, Susan Mohr; and also Richard Booth.

The service for Bill will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Klaassen Family Funeral Home with the Rev. David Huling officiating. Interment in Hillsdale.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Humane Society or the American Red Cross. Please visit www.klaassenfuneralhome.com where you can sign the online guest book or share a memory with his family.
