MOUNT CLEMENS (AP) A burning odor coming from an air handling unit forced the temporary relocation of inmates at the Macomb County Jail on Tuesday.
The source of the odor was being investigated, but no one was injured.
Macomb County Sheriff's Department Capt. John Roberts said 168 inmates from four floors of the jail were moved from the east wing to the west wing of their floors as a safety precaution shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday. The all-clear was given about 4 p.m.
