Ruth Scholten Boyce Osterop, age 83, of Holland, formerly of Grand Haven, passed through the gates of Heaven to be with her Lord on Monday, May 5, 2008, after a brief stay at the Hospice House of Holland.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Jeanette Scholten of Graaf-schap.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Jan, and children: Janet and Douglas Kollewehr of Spring Lake, Richard and Lyn Boyce of Alma, Cindy and Charles Yonker of Holland; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers: Leon and Adrianna Scholten, Jud and Joyce Scholten, Eugene and Joyce Scholten, Allen and Carole Scholten, all of Holland; sister, Bea Scholten of Florida; and many loving nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be 9 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008, at the First Presbyterian Church, 659 State Street in Holland. The Rev. Linda Knieriemen will be officiating. Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 8, 2008, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street in Holland.
