Warriors' softball, baseball top Big Reds

Western Michigan Christian edged Muskegon at Beukema Field Monday, 14-11.

Katie Gray led the Warriors with three hits including two triples. She also had three RBIs and scored three times. Ali Cavanaugh stroked a double and had two RBIs.

The game ended with WMC catcher Jenny Payne throwing out a baserunner at third. Payne also had a good game at the plate with two hits and two RBIs.

The players of the game named by coaches Kris Grek and Alan Hulst were Gray for her offensive show and Amber Folkema for her stellar play in centerfield along with her two hits at the plate.

The Warriors host Tri-Unity today.

WMC BASEBALL RALLIES FOR WIN

The Western Michigan Christian baseball team scored six runs in the top of the sixth inning and went on to defeat the Muskegon Big Reds 14-12 on Monday. The teams combined for 31 hits.

Zeb Boeskool led WMC with four hits, including two doubles. He also scored four runs and knocked in two. Andrew Rop had three hits, one a double, scored four runs and knocked in one. Tyler Ray finished with two singles and had three RBIs. Sam Vos reached base four times, including two singles and two walks.

Josh Sweetman pitched seven innings and struck out four.
