Clarence 'Clare' Boss

Clarence "Clare" Boss, age 81, of Grand Haven passed away peacefully Thursday, May 15, 2008 at his home with his family by his side. He was born July 31,1926, in Grand Rapids to Maurice and Geneva (Karsten) Boss and married Pauline Diepenhorst on September 6, 1945, in Grand Rapids.

Clare enjoyed yard work, hunting and spending time with his family and friends. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII. Clare is survived by his wife, Pauline, of 62 years; two daughters, Michelle (Tony) Costa of Fruitport and Tracy (Mike) Gimborys of Grand Rapids; three sons, Dan (Marla) Boss of Pine Lake, Curt (Joy) Boss of Grand Haven and Scott (Vivian) Boss of West Olive; 14 grandchildren, Ashley and fiance Derrick, Rachel, Cameron, Paul, Claire, Olivia, Dan Jr., Tammy, Corey, Kurt, Katie, Chelsea, Mistie, Deyshia; 8 Great-grandchildren, Mishaya, Ashton, Daniel, Meradi, Pierson, Mallory, Eric, Crystal; Sister-in-laws, Jackie Zych of Holland, Betty Boss of Florida and a brother-in- law; Kenneth Etterbeek of Holland and several nieces nephews. Clare was preceded in death by his brother, Maurice Boss.

The service for Clarence will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2008, at the Klaassen Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Lowell Wood officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis.
