Spring Lake golf struggles at Shelby

Spring Lake coach George Bitner said his players might have had tonight's prom on the mind instead of the golf course Friday at Shelby, as the Lakers fell, 157-164.

Landon King again broke the 30 barrier for the Lakers, shooting a 37. But he was the only Spring Lake player to do so, as Danny Knape added a 41, Steve Westerburg shot a 42 and David Bonter carded a 44.

Spring Lake is back in action Thursday as it plays in the Division 2 districts at The Links at Bowen Lake, hosted by Greenville.
