Six baby ducks were rescued from a sewer this morning after a call for help was received from city onlookers.
Grand Haven city workers received a call from Wirick's Office Products, 20 N. Harbor Drive, about a baby duck falling in to a city parking lot sewer right next to the building.
Instead of pulling out one baby duck, the two city workers were able to rescue six.
"I remember seeing the mother duck last night, and some of her other ducklings standing by the sewer. The mother was acting funny, and I suspected that one had fallen in," said Nancy Kruse, an employee at Wirick's.
Workers rescued the ducks 10 minutes after arriving at the scene.
The ducks were then pulled out of the sewer and carried in a box over to their mother.
