Grand Haven's softball team was held winless at Saturday's Lansing Waverly Invite.
Despite a complete-game effort from freshman pitcher Chelsea Meloche in Game 1, the Bucs fell 7-2 to Corunna. Defensive standouts in the game included Alyssa Fricano, who made a few nice catches in right field, and Page Segard, who played a solid third base.
The host Warriors found the gaps with a number of their hits and rolled to a 15-6 victory in the Bucs' Game 2 loss. Shelley Bultje pitched a complete game for Grand Haven, while offensively, Shaye Sutton, Aimee Shumaker and Bultje collected hits.
The Bucs managed only two hits in their final loss, a 6-1 setback to Caledonia. Meloche fired another complete game and also tallied a single at the plate. Shumaker added a triple.
