MOUNT CLEMENS (AP) A Richmond man has been sentenced to a year in jail for molesting four boys while he worked as a youth mentor.
Macomb County Circuit Judge Peter Maceroni on Wednesday also sentenced Perry Wilson, 43, to five years' probation. Wilson must register as a sex offender, move from Richmond and have no contact with children under 17.
Wilson pleaded no contest last month to four counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct. A no-contest plea isn't an admission of guilt, but it is treated as one at sentencing.
Prosecutors said Wilson molested the 7- to 14-year-old boys between 2001 and 2008 while he mentored with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
Defense attorney Marc Lakin said the sentence is fair to all of the parties involved in the case.
