Police run down robber of GH gas station

Grand Haven public safety officers were led on a foot chase by an alleged robber early this morning.

According to the department, the unarmed suspect demanded money from the clerk at the Mobil Mart, 1 S. Beacon Blvd., and was able to obtain an undisclosed amount of cash. It happened around 1:30 a.m.

Officers were able to locate the suspect a few blocks away. After a short foot chase, the suspect was subdued and taken into custody, the department said, and the money was recovered.

The suspect has been lodged at the Ottawa County Jail and is pending arraignment, the department said.
